I'm sure many people know that Emily Dickinson has inspired other artists--such as Simon and Garfunkel . . .

But did you know that she has become a Youtube sensation?
Along with the new interest in Miss Dickinson there is also a new biography that sees the "Belle of Amherst" as considerably less "belle" than her standard image suggests: Lives Like Loaded Guns by Lyndall Gordon. It also shows her as considerably more human--not the American Lady of Shallot, but a real woman of her age.
