This one makes me hungry - on American breads.

Multi–Grain Seven Seeds from Almondine

Flecked throughout with a multitude of nutty, buttery fresh seeds—poppy, sesame, flax, sunflower—this may be the ultimate sandwich bread. Pile on some roast turkey, dilled Havarti, and tomato and taste how good life can be. —Meryl Rosofsky

Ah, a controversy:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/magazine/the-monument-war-frank-gehrys-eisenhower-memorial/2012/05/08/gIQAIQFvFU_gallery.html?hpid=z6#photo=1

Me, I rather like Gehry. Though I don't just love every design, and have hated at least one (a hotel in Spain), at least for a while - I've grown to understand him more over time.

Anyway, I'm fine with this present design for the Eisenhower memorial; it makes sense to me.

What do you think?

@ossobuco,
I find it difficult to think that Neil Gaiman is a serious writer. He's absolutely a great writer on dark and darkly humorous things but I find it difficult to see him as A Serious or Morose writer. Razz

@tsarstepan,
Good one. Especially liked that illustration of Dubai. Didn't know about most of those cities before the slide show.

The Daily Life of the Yawalapiti

Quote:
The Yawalapiti tribe life in the Xingu National park in Brazil. No cell phones, no computers, no cars, no TV and no other gadgets we’ve become accustomed to. The Yawalapiti tribe make do with what nature gives them. In August the Yawalapiti tribe will hold the Quarup, which is a ritual held over several days to honour in death a person of great importance to them. This year the Quarup will be honouring two people – a Yawalapiti Indian who they consider a great leader, and Darcy Ribeiro, a well-known author, anthropologist and politician known for focusing on the relationship between native peoples and education in Brazil.
