Well, if it comes to that, you'll be my go-to guy for hay-growing. Is hay even a crop? Shrubs and flowers have been my limit so far. Horses probably don't eat flowers.

I've been waiting for gas to get to $5/gal because my spidey sense tell me that is a tipping point. A point where alternates portable energy storage systems become viable and demand by the public.

BTW---$5/gal gasoline is equivalent to about 5 cents/kw-hr @ 100% thermodynamic efficiency--as most Otto engines are about 10 to 20% thermodynamically efficient--that puts transportation at $5/gal equivalence -hr.
