Agreed - we are actually in the process of that now. We have selected three towns that meet some of our expectations of what we would like in a community - including quality education.

Many competitive colleges also look at extracurricular activities to see how well rounded they are, and to weigh the potential of the student to succeed.
Only high scores on the SAT doesn't cut it any more.
