On average she makes about $1600 a month, and I get like $837 a month as survivors benefits. Yet my mom thinks its not enough money to pay the bills. Our water bill is $80/month, $300 for power, $150 for cable/internet, and $400 for rent, she works an hour away so she spends $100 a week for gas which is just plain stupid. That means only $930 for utilities and things, and like $400 for gas. Yet she never pays the house payment, so our house is being forclosed on. We would actually have money if she didn't waste it all on alcohol. What should I do to get my mom to see things my point of view?

$400 for rent. Is that for another place to live that is not being foreclosed upon? Why is the power bill so high? Does that include heat?

Your numbers are all over the place.
besides the twice mentioned rent AND mortgage (which I noticed too, as I'm sure anyone reading this did), you talk about $930 for utilities and things, but you already accounted for water and power, those are utilities. You've also mentioned gas for the car twice.
Is the $1600 she makes before or after taxes. Your amount for survivor benefits, is that net?

I think I'm clear on it - the first numbers add up to 930. I'm guessing he said rent meaning mortgage/house payment. So, with gas, that's 1330. and then there's food and other expenses like clothing. (insurance, prop taxes?)

It takes her $100 of gas a week so thats $400 a month. The rent is the same thing as the mortage. $1600 is roughly after taxes, and yes $837 is the survivor benefits. AND HELLOOOO I added all the utilities together.

Yes but we recieve $259 a month in food stamps. So we shouldn't be having our house foreclosed on us if she would've paid her bills like she's supposed to.

My sister dropped out of school and is over the age of 18. I'm the only one with survivor benefits.
