@neopetlover512,
Hello,
I'll answer the question with rge following eample: (a^5) * (b^2) *(a^-7 ) *( b^-4) / ( a^-1) *(b^-2) You have to put togetger the a's and the b's in the nominator and in denominator (a^5) * (a^-7 )* (b^2) *(b^-4) / (a^-1)*(b^-2)
Now you use the following powes rule
(a^m) *(a^n)=a^(m+n)
For every real a, m , n
The exercise becomes:
(a^(5-7)) * (b^(2-4)) / (a^-1)*(b^-2) = (a^-2)*(b^-2) / (a^-1)*(b^-2) =
Now you can use the following power rules:
1.(a^m) /(a^n)=a^(m-n) For every real a, m , n if n>m a must be different then zero
2. a^0=1 a!=0
The exercise becomes:
(a^(-2-(-1)))*(b^(-2-(-2)))= (a^-1)*(b^0)=a^-1=1/a a!=0 I hope that the example is clear I'll be happy to answer to specufic exercises.
