Aiwa Cd/Cassette and AM/FM player

Radio works fine, but the DVD on top of the unit doesn't. It turns as though it is going to play and then it stops.
I like this unit because it is the perfect size and looks very nice. I have rarely used it so I don't understand why it doesn't work. Is it a simple fix? and where would I take it?
