The Gays issue. Are we in the West just another Iran?
In terms of hypocrisy that is.

We seem to condemn Iran’s denigration and discrimination of Gays and women while at the same time forgetting that we do not give full equality to our own women and Gays and are indeed fighting these notions.

Are we just pots calling the kettle black in these issues while hypocritically doing the same as Iran and other countries who we are trying to preach to in terms of human rights?

I think that we are. We do not walk our talk so can we actually expect others to take our advise and lead when we ourselves do not live up to our own expectations?

Can we expect them to change their views which in a sense are more honest than our own?

Geat post with great information ! The sad truth is we are bullies and at the same time we are afraid of things we should not be afraid of.

All of us get it wrong at times, I see gays doing things that I do not agree with like supporting gay rights but not the rights of intellectually challenged people when it comes to fair wages.
We can see how it is wrong for the bully to take by force what he wants but we can not see how it is wrong to work the intectually challenged hard labor all of their life and not pay them enough to be able to buy a descent home.

We have the technology to take care of all us but instead we create a environment that perpetuates secrecy, fraud and violence.

It is not just a gay problem it is a sick society and the gay community is a part of it but not because they are gay it is that they too have the same problems the rest of us have. If eveyone studied ethics for a few years and we were able to bring science into the moral world and not just the material world what kind of world would we have?
