I always loved those sight gags that came from "police Squad". That show was doomed from day 1 cause it was such a hoot. Who wrote Police Squad?

OH sorry about Lelie Nielsen. I was a little kid and he was a HEAVY on my Saturday westerns. Then he became FRANK DREBBIN all of a sudden. How did he make that transition? was it luck of casting or what?
