I had an Oscar William Little Treasury, Rev. ed., but it was only American, I was disappointed when I got to page 690, not having read the cover fully... to be in the midst of a boringly long poem about Wisconsin. sigh
dlxv -- Winfield Townley Scott was a mystic poet, is that what you're referring to? OIC, I think. I just found this on Google at blueline on the ezboards. TomKitten, I think we have some puzzle-players here!
Quote:Please forgive the intrusion from a non-poet seeking some
wisdom about works by Winfield Townley Scott!
The reason I'm posting this note is to ask about a reference
to WTS works that appears in a puzzle I'm doing ... Games Magazine
December, 2003 ... sorry if my question is a bit cryptic, but
such is the nature of the puzzle!
The puzzle refers to "the wing size and the height of a creature of
the lowest order of the celestial hierarchy, of a certain Scandanavan
origin, from two works by Winfield Townley Scott"
I take this to mean the wing size and height of an angel of a
certain Scandanavian origin from two works by WTS ...
But there is where my search (thus far) has ended ... neither the
internet nor my local library is very forthcoming with works by
WTS, so I appeal to one who is more learned and well-read than I
in these areas.
Hoping you can help me!
Thanks in advance for any clue you can offer!

Ahhh, another mystery solved. Hmmm, so what is the wing size, I wonder, for creatures that dance on the head of a pin?
