When a user signs on, just to spam you

What do you do?
Use the report ticket?

the user -ahmedHAGAG has spammed my blog.
I sign on here to see that he has chosen to 'follow' me on a2k as well.

Since the spam happened OFF a2k, does that constitute a help desk ticket even?

Well it's highly likely if they did spam your blog that they only here to do the same. if you report them and they don't spam a2k then alls well because the admins just keep an extra eye on this guy. If they start the spam ordeal then the admins would have a heads up already and can take action as soon as the spamming starts.

Win/win for reporting them now.

Certainly keeping us informed is always good (plus we love mail; hamsters can get lonely). Of course we can do nada about what's happened off-A2K. Sorry it's happening.

PS I use WordPress for my own blog, and I have it set so that comments have to be approved by me before they can see the light of day. Can you set yours that way?

Sorry to hear about your spammer. There are so many short-lived sock puppets who appear on this forum, immediately head toward certain threads and attack specific posters that one has to wonder what is wrong with them and what point do they think they are making. I suspect the same may be said of your spammer.

So... he joins on 10/31 and is already following 8 members, ALL of whom just happen to have female faces as their avatar, including mac (who has only posted once since early Sept). Are there any other female faces that people use for avatars or did he find them all?

Kinda bizarre/creepy, imo.

Mac's inclusion makes me wonder if he came across a specific (old) thread and then decided to follow some of the participants.

Anyway.

We'll see what he actually does here.

Jes makes a good point about approving comments on your blog, Shewolf, though of course you'd still see them. I think some blog platforms let you ban/ block users, too.

I do have settings in place to have to approve all comments.

He is a spammer.
He sent info about a blog selling drugs I think it was.

I would be curious to know if all of those people he chose to follow have blogs too.....

Why do women think that every lonely guy out there is a psycho ? Ignore him. The chances are he is looking for western women to have an affair with....you know what western women are like....he might even be looking for a marriage for citizenship.
