@Ticomaya,
Quote:He's definitely not into the punk rock scene, and abhors rap.
God only abhors the new style of rap which she feels is unfaithful.
She is very much into old-school.

The christian right uses heavy metal as a index of rock and roll culture. The music is in that opinion at the same time a product and a catalyst to behavior that is biblically frowned upon. There are Christian organizations that fund and promote heavier music, such as the Parachute Music Festival in New Zealand.

i want proof from the kjv bible
Then read the fuckin' thing and leave us alone.
Loon . . .
@metel rokz,
Seriously, metel, roz, how can you find proof for something that did not even exist when that dusty old dogma was created? I know religions like to interpret passages by twisting words around to get their way, but it's really a very silly method to "prove" anything.
I'm putting on my Biblical scholar hat to help. Here are three examples from the bible that could easily be Heavy Metal lyrics (or at least Spinal Tap). Just imagine White Snake or Judith Priest screaming out any of these passages and I think you have your proof. At least as much proof as a virgin birth and the parting of the red sea:
Exodus 15:1-18
I will sing to the Lord,
For He has triumphed gloriously!
The horse and its rider
He has thrown into the sea!
Chronicles 35:15
And the singers, the sons of Asaph, were in their places, according to the ycommand of David, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer. Also the gatekeepers zwere at each gate; they did not have to leave their position, because their brethren the Levites prepared portions for them.
Isaiah 44:23
Sing, O heavens, for the Lord has done it!
Shout, you lower parts of the earth;
Break forth into singing, you mountains,
O forest, and every tree in it!
For the Lord has redeemed Jacob,
And uglorified Himself in Israel.
It is well known that Moses would only talk in a Heavy Metal voice.
This is the true reason why Aharon served as Moses' interpreter, it was so that the general public could receive a more palatable message extracted from the raw lyrics of Moses.
It also does make sense, to an extent. When Moses told pharaoh "Let my people go!", do you think it sounded more like Frank Sinatra? Would Pharaoh really fall for that? - then imagine this coming from the likes of Mustaine, and you have a much more convincing conveyance of the Lord's message.
@Baal,
Saul did "Take up his ax".
@Green Witch,
Somehow, I would have thought the devil had more taste.
@Green Witch,
Quote:The horse and its rider
He has thrown into the sea!
That proves that god loves classic rock, particularly The Doors.
