I turn away from
déjà vu dawn
soiled by
too many words

nothing ever melts
in this frozen land

desperately looking
through hot tears
those knives to cut
the only steaming cake
with its dried raisins
the birds never ate

nothing ever grows
in this barren land

the flavor left my tongue
my voice its strength
grapes of wrath lie
where millions of leaves
collected to rest

nothing will subdue
my anger

another sun is rising
wings spread in blood
a déjà vu beginning
no longer singing
defeat or victory

all embraces death
in this land
