I'm wondering what translation and edition might be recommended for "The World as Will and Representation." My copy of the abridged version of the text published by Everyman is near shambles and I'm looking to upgrade. I am now looking for a complete, unabridged version.
P.S. I haven't used the forum since we were over on the old page. Hopefully I'm doing this right.
Never trust abridged versions of a philosophical text.
There is an very good translation by E.F.G. Payne in two volumes in paperback published by Dover (1969). It is generally the translation cited in scholarly articles.
Payne's translations of Schopenhauer are generally agreed to be the best.
