I or others will put up a work of art (painting, lithograph, etching, drawing, etc...) every other week. In turn, I ask for you to write a poem that comes from studying this work of art and submit it here for others to enjoy and also become inspired to writing an original work of poetry themselves.

For the first work of art:

Oskar Kokoschka. Schlafende Frau (Sleeping Woman), [color lithograph]. 1908. Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY.

Okay, go forth and write a poem and submit it here. Haikus and free form poems and every thing in between are welcome.

The next work of art will appear on 25 Jul. 2010 so get to writing those poems!
