Wool Shake 08, from Redken.

I decided to grow out short shag/pixie into a bob. I'm going to keep it real short and ulta layered in the back, with the sides growing out to sweep forward in longer, very layered hair, along the jaw line.

I dreaded going through that growing out stage.

Wool Shake to the rescue.

After semi-styling, mostly just drying with a blow dryer, I sprayed a few squirts onto my hands, and scrunched all over.

It really does gives you hair this fabulous volume and wooly look.

hmmm....that may not sound attractive, but it really is. Lots of textured volume, with no weight.

Makes your hair look slightly teased or dredded.

Here's a before and after I found online...

@chai2,
Your post seemed so lonely by itself. I thought I'd drop in and say 'hi'.

Hope the new hair style and product works out for you! Wink

@chai2,
My hair looks like the after photo after a night's restlessness due to hot flashes.

oh, and my hair isn't nearly so messed up looking like the woman in the after photo.

IMO, her hair in the before is major fugly.

the only way I can describe it is that it looked very slighty ratted...dredded.

enough to make it interesting.

oh, and in case you're wondering...this is not me either..but she does have wool shake in her hair.

Curious to know the ingredients... is it called Wool Shank because it contains a lot of lanolin? Back in the day, that used to be a much sought after ingredient in shampoos.

@Butrflynet,
Heh, looked on their website and this is what they list under the ingredients tab:

"Innovative gel-slush adds extreme volume, texture and a high-fashion, semi-matte topcoat."

I feel so informed!

@Butrflynet,
I don't think it contains lanolin.

In fact, there's nothing greasy about it all all.

I just read the list of ingredients on the bottle. No lanolin. just all sorts of stuff I can't pronounce AND, way down at the end of the list....

wait for it.....

here it comes.....

guess what I'll bet it giving the poof factor.....

......

Cotton extract!!!

That makes sense.
I can see where cotton fibers would cause different pieces of hair to want to get caught up on each other.

Yesterday, when I first used it, I asked Wally what he thought, he said "It makes you look Sassy"

Does this mean you've given up the Brylcream now, chai?

It's so hard keeping up with you!

I know, I'm such a trendsetter.

Well, no, I haven't thrown out my tube of brylcreem, but that was giving me a piecey look, and with hair growing out, it didn't look good.

For now, wooly is where it's at.
