@Rockhead,
I'm such a knob, I thought you meant musically, not amphibanominally.

@hingehead,
there's just not a lot of herpetologically named bands.

I'm afraid to ask what a knob is down under. sometimes the answers scare the billabong outta me...

@aidan,
Saw Joe live downunder many years ago, got busted for using substances.

Joe Cocker told to leave the country, 1972

After a concert in Adelaide on October 13, Cocker got high with a little help from his friends, booze and marijuana. He was asleep when police raided his motel room at 10 the next morning and arrested him and six of his entourage for possession. Bailed for $1000 each by his promoter, Cocker pleaded guilty and expected to continue the tour unhindered and unhinged as usual. Then there was the wild performance at Festival Hall in Melbourne five days later, where Cocker yelled out "in five years marijuana will be legalised in Australia, and the same cat who is trying to throw us out now will be smoking it himself".

Unimpressed, the next day immigration minister Jim Forbes gave Cocker four hours to leave the country. Marijuana is still not legal, but Cocker has since toured Australia 10 times.

@Dutchy,
Who got busted? You or him? (oh , so it was him - just saw your edit).

I saw him live in Philadelphia in a reasonably small venue - this theater in west Philly and it was sort of spur of the moment because a friend of mine took care of his sore throat and he gave him two free tickets and this friend knew I loved him so he invited me and it was FANTASTIC! One of the best live shows I've ever seen- the only people I can think of that I've loved live as much are Bruce Springsteen, The Blind Boys of Alabama and BB King. I love Joe Cocker- pot smoker or not!

@Dutchy,
And let's not forget that 'Unchain my heart' became the theme song for the government's introduction of a Goods & Services Tax.

Funny how Cocker's kicking out wasn't dragged up at the time.

Sometimes shuffle tortures me
