From what I gather (and I haven't done much research), a group of musically inclined hairdressers formed a band. Most of them are hairdressers and most are gay men. They make good music if you like disco with good guitar and catchy, uplifting lyrics.

I don't know anything about their newest album but the Scissor Sisters do have an insanely catchy pop dance tune in the biggest hit so far ...

Marc Almond Band-The City
Released in 1971, this jazzy album was a mainstay in Great Britain. Mark and Almond were John Mayall sidekicks

Bob was in Fleetwood Mac for a few years..

Quote:
Welch struggled with a variety of marginal bands until 1971, when he was invited to join Fleetwood Mac, then an erstwhile English blues band that had lost two of its three frontline members, Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer, within a few months.

Along with fellow newcomer Christine McVie, Bob helped to steer the band in a more melodic direction, as heard on 1971's Future Games.

He wrote songs for and played on several Fleetwood Mac albums, including Bare Trees (1972), Mystery to Me (1973) and Heroes Are Hard to Find (1974).

@TTH,
That was groovy! I loved see the Steve Miller Band in concert, sometime in the mid 90's.

But that video was such a false advertisement! That plane in the video was not a big engine jet airliner. I couldn't tell you what kind of plane it was but it certainly didn't take off like a jet and the windshield didn't seem right for a jet plane. Mad I want my money back!

@djjd62,
Someone disabled your embedded videos for some reason. I never heard the first one but I really like it a lot. Quite lovely! Smile

I'm listening to an classical podcast from January 2009.

Passages of musical work Chaconne by Johann Sebastian Bach adapted and played by Fumito Nunoya on his marimba.

Here is the same artist but at a different event. Sorry because the quality of my podcast is much better audio wise then this Youtube video.

The original WGBH Classical Performance may still be on the iTunes page. It should be dated 30th of January 2009.

@tsarstepan,
yeah that happens, youtube has been better about not pulling music from their site, but seem to be limiting some embedding, guess they want traffic at youtube, viewing advertising and all that

Blue Heron sings Obrecht and Perotin - WGBH Classical Performance

The Renaissance vocal ensemble Blue Heron brings us music for the darkest season of the year, the weeks leading up to Christmas. In the 15th century in northern Europe, this period produced penitential, mystical music. But when Christmas came it was also a time for celebration. We'll hear both these moods in music by Jacob Obrecht and Antoine Brumel, and in some 12th century music by Perotin. *** Obrecht: Factor Orbis; Brumel: Nato canunt omnia; Perotin: Beata viscera; Perotin: Sederunt principes. Blue Heron Renaissance Choir; Scott Metcalfe, conductor +++ More info on Blue Heron: http://www.blueheronchoir.org/ Recorded in a live broadcast at WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio on December 19th, 2008. ©2009 WGBH Educational Foundation. http://www.wgbh.org/classical email: [email protected]
