Booman
It happens nearly every day, particularly in times when I can't get to a radio or my music collection.
Poet Of The Blues --- Willie Dixon
The Belafonte version of La Bamba -
Starts slow, in English:
You were drowning
And I saved you
On the sand you did write
I will always love you
But the sand blew away
And your love did too
Oh the crab it is said
Walks in reverse
For your true love
I'd walk upon my head
Then it breaks into a spirited dance, using the traditional Spanish. I usually play it two or three times, driving wife and family outdoors.
Moved onto Bat Out Of Hell #2. I love the lryics as much as anything on the album
The LOTR - "The Two Towers"
I am presently BLASTING my sole Hip-Hop CD. "Once Upon a Time In America," - by Smooth the Hustler. (Yo,yo...Eastside! ...Boo in tha' hizouse!
)
Oh, Bill W, yours reminds me of another song by the same name but on a different subject; one I keep coming back to about 9/11/01; and, yes, it obviously is entitled Overcome as written and sung by Live
even now the world is bleedin' but feelin' just fine all numb
in our castle where we're always free to choose never free enough
to find i wish somethin' would break cuz we're runnin' out of time
and i am overcome i am overcome holy water in my lungs i am overcome
these women in the street pullin' out their hair my master's
in the yard givin' light to the unaware this plastic little place
is just a step amongst the stairs
and i am overcome i am overcome baby holy water in my lungs i am overcome
so drive me out out to that open field turn the ignition off
and spin around your help is here but i'm parked in this open space
blockin' the gates of love
i am overcome i am overcome holy water in my lungs i am overcomed
beautiful drowning this beautiful drowning this holy water
this holy water is in my lungs
and i am overcome i am overcome i am overcome i am overcome
The Schoneburg-like desonance of Howard Shores score for Part II of LOTR:The Two Towers is more grand epic than the first part. I can just imagine what the battle music for Minas Tirith in Part III will sound like.
It's going to be one gigantic tone poem upon completion.
AC/DC - "Highway to Hell" - Girls Got Rhythm
