Wrecking Ball
Emmylou Harris
My life's an open book, you read it on the radio
We've got no where to hide, we got no where to go
But if you still decide you want to take a ride
Meet me at the Wrecking Ball
Wrecking Ball, I'll wear something pretty and white
And we'll go dancing tonight
Meet me at the Wrecking Ball
Wrecking Ball, I'll wear something pretty and white
And we'll go dancing tonight
I see your smoky eyes right across the bar
I've seen that look before shining from star to star
Though I can't take that chance
If you've got time for one dance
Meet me at the Wrecking Ball
Wrecking Ball, I'll wear something pretty and white
And we'll go dancing tonight
Meet me at the Wrecking Ball
Wrecking Ball, I'll wear something pretty and white
And we'll go dancing tonight
The restless line of cars goes stretching down the road
But I won't telephone 'cause you might say hello
What is it makes me feel this way
What is it makes me want to say
Meet me at the Wrecking Ball
Wrecking Ball, I'll wear something pretty and white
And we'll go dancing tonight
Meet me at the Wrecking Ball
Wrecking Ball, I'll wear something pretty and white
And we'll go dancing tonight
By the Great Luke Ski:
I'm sorry Gollum
I never meant to hurt you-ou-ou
But you can kiss that ring bye-bye
'Cause tonight
I'm stealin' like a hobbit
The Blues Collection -- 3 CD set ,,,,,, right now Muddy Waters and "Blow Wind Blow"
When the sun rose this morning, I didn't have my baby by my side.
When the sun rose this morning, I didn't have my baby by my side.
I don't know where she was, I know she's out with some another guy.
Don't the sun look lonesome shading down behind the trees?
Don't the sun look lonesome shading down behind the trees?
But don't your house look lonesome when your baby's packed to leave.
Blow wind, blow wind, blow my baby back to me.
Blow wind, blow wind, blow my baby back to me.
Well you know if I don't soon find them, I will be in misery.
Goodbye baby, that is all I have left to say.
Goodbye baby, that is all I have left to say.
But you have lost your good thing, go ahead and have your own way.

The Digital Jay studio recording of Frank Loesser's "The Most Happy Fella" and in digital surround sound! It's the first complete recording and far superior to 1993's revival which featured only a piano accompanyment. The original cash recording is unfortunately only in mono sound. It's an expense CD -- I found it at CDUniverse for about $46. (3 CD's and a complete libretto).
Earth....Wind.....and Fire.
Speaking of prices, would you guys believe I have on several occassions, spent upwards of fifty dollars, for one vinyl album. And once fifteen dollars for a 45 single?!
Led Zep - How the West Was Won
Still listening to the rad-ee-oo. On Sunday mornings, i tune into a "classic rock" station, because they broadcast the weekly, two-hour Dr. Demento program. I then leave that station on for the rest of the day--one day a week being about all of "classic rock" programming that i can stand.
Crystal Method - Trip Like I Do
Got on a kick of listening to a collection of Don Gibson songs:
I Can't Stop Loving You
It's Been a Blue Blue Day
Look Who's Blue
Hurtin' Inside
Oh Lonesome Me (original title: Ole Lonesome Me)
Sweet Dreams of You
The World is Waiting for the Sunrise
etc
the late great Marvin Gaye:
I've been really tryin', baby
Tryin' to hold back this feelin' for so long
And if you feel like I feel, baby
Then come on, oh come on
Let's get it on, oh baby
Let's get it on
Let's love, baby
Let's get it on
Sugar, let's get it on
We're all sensitive people
With so much to give
Understand me, sugar
Since we got to being
Let's live
I love you
There's nothing wrong with me
Lovin' you, baby no no
And givin' yourself to me could never be wrong
If the love is true, oh baby
Don't you know how sweet and wonderful
Life can be
I'm asking you baby
To get it on with me
I ain't gonna worry
I ain't gonna push
I won't push you baby
So come on, come on, come on, come on, come on baby
Stop beatin' 'round the bush
Let's get it on
Let's get it on
You know what I'm talkin' about
Come on baby, hey girl
Let your love come out
If you believe in love
Let's get it on
Let's get it on, baby
This minute, oh yeah
Let's get it on
Please get it on
So come on, come on, come on, come on, come on darlin'
Stop beatin' 'round the bush
Gonna get it on
I wanna get it on
You don't have to worry that it's wrong
If the spirit moves ya
Let me groove ya... good
Let your love come down
Get it on, come on baby
<sigh>
Leonard Cohen, "Ten New Songs"
people whispering about the injustices of work
Now I'm singing High Hopes, having just watched a rerun of Hole in the Head.
Edgar,
...Are you one of those people that latch on to a song, early in the day and sing it all day. Then the next day, another one jumps in your head. Of course I know about this,........I'm guilty too.
