right now it's metal band System of a Down.
Great chorus for ya:
"War! **** the System!"
almost Shakesperan in it's.....er..well....brevity.
Sounds like good aerobics music Monger
OAK, they repeat it a few times.
Maybe "Syndrome of a Down" would be a more fitting name, but hey they're definitely on my 5 Favorite Bands list.
Monger if it's good enough to make your top 5 list, then they must be worthy of great hights.
I'm still getting off on the Blues and 60s rock and roll.
Counting Crows - "August and Everything After"
New Blues
Phoebe Snow's CD just went off, and Here comes the Five Royales. "Courage To Love"
OAK,
...You..listening to the Blues?
..What a shocker!
Black Magic Woman. In my next life, I want to marry Carlos Santana.
well guys and gals I'm reaquainting myself with the early Rolling Stones. Raw and raunchy rock and roll.
Tangerine Dream-Turn of the Tides
Het OAK,
...Perhaps you or someone can help me. I recently saw the Rolling Stones, on an Ed Sullivan Show, from the 60's. On the second number they did, a ballad, The bassist played an upright, Keith Richards played accoustic piano, and a fifth member, (I couldn't tell if it was a boy or girl) played a recorder, after playing the piano on their first number. I wasn't aware of this versatility, or the fifth member.
Tori Amos covering "I'm Not in Love"
Remember that cheesy lite-sounds song from 15 or 20 or so years ago? Well, she covered it and it's positively sinister. I never noticed how evil that song was until she redid it.
The album Strange Little Girls is all covers of songs written and originally recorded by men. Some are evil, some are light, some are just stories about people. Most have female central characters. It's overall a great album. It's got some weak points, and I know a lot of people were not fans when it came out, but I think it is an excellent collection. New perspectives on (mostly) old songs. That's what I think makes a good cover -- find something new and different in the familiar. Give the song your own perspective. She does that well.
Hey Booman, how's things.
The R/S you've got in mind is probably Brian Jones. Try the links below.

Quite a guy. I can remember hearing about him now.I didn't know he was the founder. of the Stones, and apparently the wildest! On TV he was so slight and had that hat on, I didn't know if he was a man or woman. and so innocent looking.
"Can't Stop" - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Yeah, he was one of the over indulgent ones, wine, women and song and so on.
Can you get Q Music Magazine in NYC ? They cover rock and roll in all it's guises

I would imagine if it's in print, you can find it somewhre in NYC. Hell, I've seen the London Times, I know. I was going to ask if that was the Quincy Jones mag, but I clicked on the link and saw the prices in pounds (BTW, I suppose on an english keyboard, there is a pound sign, where we have the dollar sign.)
