Actually, I'm in the process of organizing my records and discs for my annual radio show Friday night. An advantage of living in a remote area is that they let you take over the (only) radio station in the valley once a year, where I play seven hours of commercial-free oldies (roughly 1955-1977) and ask listeners trivia questions for prizes donated by local stores. It's designed to keep people home and out of the bars, and hopefully reduce the number of drunks on the road. I've been doing it for almost twenty years, and the local police tell me that it seems to have helped. I addition, I have developed a pretty solid local following. I think that somewhere in the last decade the valley promoted the show from a tradition to an institution. If any of you could receive KSRA-FM, I'd invite you to tune in Friday at 6 p.m. MST when we declare Radio Free Salmon to be on the air! Have a happy new year without me!
That sounds like a fun way to spend New Years Eve!
Start a thread with music trivia...we'll have a blast.
CowDoc, that sounds like radio heaven!
Oh, by the way, I'm listening to Mowtown Chartbusters (Vinyl, silver sleeve, you know the one)
yoshimi battles the pink robots - flaming lips
and i still can't tell if i like it or if it's just contrived
Heard a lot about it DT, haven't heard it though...
We're listening to the soundtrack for Grosse Point Blank.
Good soundtrack for those that think 80's music sucks. I like originals better so "Pressure Drop" suffers a little in comparison to the Maytals version.
G&R's version of "Live And Let Die" is bizarre for Slash's off-key wanderings and The English Beat reminds me of The Police with a saxophone.
This mix of Townshend's "Let My Love Open The Door" is nifty...
All in all though it's a good CD and must have been effective in this dark comedy.
BTW, if you like Reggae here's a great soundtrack from a great movie: "The Harder They Come"

Jet Silver and the Dolls of Venus - Be-Bop Deluxe
Thanks, Pan. I know we have all those songs, but I don't know if we have that particular CD. Maybe I should watch the movie -- you recommend it?
This has been my fave Reggae CD -- great for singin' in the car.:
Just got up, last day in my present job - listening to Jimmy Cliff, Many River to Cross.

Lotsa birds are singing outside this morning.
My Funny Valentine -- Miles Davis in Concert
Led Zeppelin Live Concert: They somehow managed to mix up all of their songs into one, so I don't actually know what's playing, but it sounds great!
