I don't think 'revealed' religions are any closer to the truth than the speculations of an average person. I guess one of these "revelations" could be true, but it could also be true there bigfoot is wandering around north america, but i don't find either of these very likely.

In fact I would estimate that it is more likely that Bigfoot exists than that anybody received divine revelation. Even if someone had received divine revelation only that person receiving it would really know, and even then they could be mistaken. If that person then goes around proclaiming God spoke to them, how do I know that they are telling the truth? I wouldn't!

What gives these religions any more authenticity, or their claims any more legitimacy than those of Bernie Madoff?
