Echo-location is found in bats, dolphins and there are cases of blind people able to mimic these animal functions. While they are all very different from one another they do share this unique quality.

Communism contains the values of Socialism and goes further to restrict ownership. Socialism however, does not contain the values of Communism but is its subset.

Two entities do not have to be the "same" in order to share a quality. And while communism fails, today there are social countries still viable.

The topic was socialism communism and wealth distribution. That is what they have in common.

Okay so how would the "bleak history" of communism be evidence of the failure of socialism? Especially when you admit they are not the same thing and that communism is much more radical.

It's like saying "ducks and Ostriches both have beaks and feathers, and as evidence by the inability of ostriches to swim, ducks therefore cannot swim either"

Just because two things have similarities does not mean they will fail the same tests. That's illogical.

@Fatal Freedoms,
I think it's more a case of communism being an ostrich, one of the birds with the characteristic of flightlessness or socialism.

What?? I present categorical logic and you offer an invalid attempt to form a syllogism as if there is a connection.

Wow--you need to take a logic course and while your at it, how to debate. And as usual, you're off topic.

I will be more careful with who I correspond with here.

You are avoiding the question. How would the "bleak history" of communism be evidence of the failure of socialism?

To say they "have things in common" won't cut it.
