Julius Caesar never lived because I say so. The biographers of Caesar were all liars and the statues and coins of Caesar were all fakes. :rollinglaugh:

Needless to say, that statement lacks as much credibility as claiming that aliens once ruled the world and deposited humans.:rollinglaugh: Nevertheless, that's how atheists debate. They think they know better than eye-witnesses what happened at events and they think the imagination is evidence. :rollinglaugh: That's actually the definition of a delusion. Wink

But even more irrationally, they think they are credible. But that's okay, I know that people who are deluded don't know the difference between fact and fantasy. Wink One can't convince a delusional person of reality so I'm sure that most atheists will continue to be delusional. However, there might be one atheist in 1,000 who knows the difference between fact and fantasy. It's that one atheist to whom I witness. Smile

Every atheist. Wink They claim that the bible isn't true because they say so, period. They also claim that the authors of the bible were liars because they say so, period. They just can't see how absurd their claims are until someone actually shows them what they're doing...and even then, most atheists can't see how foolish they look.

You missunderstand the intent.

When a claim is made it will undoubtably be questioned.

Example: Jesus is the son of God.

So I would question that statement (being the inquisitive person I am). I would ask to see any evidence. the first thing put in my hand would be the Bible. And if you read the Bible (I am sure you have many times) There are inaccurracies in the timlines between some of the books describling jesus' death and ressurection.

No bad thing, we can use other evidence to support the claims, lets go get it,.........

And that I am affraid is where the trail goes cold.

It's about evidence you see. Plain and simple, unfortunalty as a stand alone piece the Bible doesn't stack up, it needs more supporting information,....there just isn't any.

Unless of course you have some.

No atheist claim the bible isn't true because there is insufficient evidence to believe the extraordinary claims in it. The same reason why atheists reject every other mythical text.

Again, there's no reason to question statements and deeds that have been witnessed unless you have proof that they're lies. That's no different than someone saying that your mother was a slut with zero proof for his claims. Again, that's called slander and is malicious because it's not based on fact, but hatred, pure and simply.:frown: That's why even the law requires that one has proof for his claims against someone or he can be sued for libel.

Well there you go. You have made the claim about Jesus now show me the other eyewitness accounts.

You got 'em right?

Not according to the principals of Critical thinking.

Witness alone is not enough to determine the veracity of a claim. In fact eye-witnesses are the most unreliable form of evidence. Nor does someone have to lie to be wrong.

James, (brother of Jesus), Jude, Peter, Matthew and John all witnessed and wrote about Jesus. But even the Romans and the Jews don't deny that he lived. So you're only proving my OP correct that atheists claim that those who wrote about Jesus were all liars because atheists say so. :rollinglaugh: Sorry friend, but you make atheists as credible as someone who makes the statement about Caesar in the OP. You look ridiculous.

Yes, because there's so many verifiable accounts of the bible, lots of proof, oh wait, no, that's why they say you have to have "faith" because none of it can be proven.

Right, so if I wrote a book, and claim some fastical nonsense, it would just be true right, because you can't prove it isn't real? Hogwash, and funny enough, proof positive that you are trying to use the tactics you claim people that require actual proof try to use.

Of course. And Hermaine witnessed the actions of Harry Potter and it was sequentially written about in a biolgraphy, maybe you read it?

It's easy to say that "so and so" witnessed this and that within the same book that's validity is being questioned in the first place. If the bible is a fictitious story it wouldn't be difficult for the author to say this person saw this and that, but without corroborating evidence none of it can be verified.

Or because there is insufficient evidence to believe anything magical or supernatural occurred.

There's a difference between knowledge and faith. For example, most atheists have knowledge of what the bible says. But they lack the ability to believe the bible which is explained in Romans 1:18-31 and 2 Corinthians 4:4,

"For the god of this age (Satan) has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot believe the light of the glory of the gospel of Christ."

So without the indwelling Holy Spirit, one cannot believe the bible as 1 Corinthians 2:14 explains. But since no one knows whether God is drawing him, then all men are without excuse since no one can say that he isn't being drawn by God. Men are also without excuse because they have knowledge of what the bible says and have to make up imaginary stories to deny it. Wink

God did that so that man would turn to God personally instead of a book. Then when God gives him the Holy Spirit, then a man knows [without a doubt that God exists since he has met Him personally through God's Spirit./B] He will then be able to believe the bible because faith is a gift from God so no one can boast. Smile
