It floated there.....

Vivid images and the line breaks give it a pleasing rhythm. The repetition of "ose" connects the various parts of the poem, makes me feel its togetherness. Thanks for posting this...

...ah, what fools we mortals be....

The cap and bells we don each day,
To see if we have learned to play
The jester.

And when we find ourselves to be
Confronted with eternity
We fester.

despised rose! i like roses.. but i don't like spiders, i hate them. i think its spiders that spun the universe, very big ones, big invisible ones! i wonder what they catch in their beautiful webs? maybe they catch butterflies but i don't know. perhaps the butterflies are invisible too or they have left. i don't think their is gold at the end of a rainbow i think their is irony at the end of a rainbow. anyway your poem is really beautiful.
