Today's interviewee is platorepublic , who has been a member on the forum since 03-31-2010.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
So what about you? Most of the forum knows you through the profile at the top of every post you make. Tell us about your profile.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q1: So tell us a little about your name, why you chose it, what it means, etc.

It's not too earth-shaking. It's just a username on an internet forum. platorepublic, because I happen to be reading Plato's Republic at the time. The book, on the other hand, is earth-shaking.

Q2: Tell us a little about your avatar. Does it mean anything special to you?

I guess I typed 'Plato Republic' on Google Images.

Q3: Explain to us the significance of your user title (if you have one) and/or signature. Where does it come from? What can this small tidbit of info tell us about you?

N/A

Q4: What made you join the forum?

I got banned from the other philosophy forum.

Q5: Can you tell us anything more about your stats, like the volume of posts, your thanks/thanked ratio, and your rep power?

No.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tell us a little bit more about you in general.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q6: If you could describe yourself in one short sentence, what would it be and why?

I don't stop at no yellow lights; no red lights either.

Q7: Do you have any other interests other than philosophy (i.e. hobbies, work, etc.)?

Yes, many sports: racquet sports, swimming, running, hockey are my favourite and most often played as of now. I play the piano and violin. I study chemistry.

Q8: Do those interests coincide with your affinity for philosophy?

No.

Q9: Can you tell us anything more about yourself?

I always think I am the best. And I am the best. This is not being narcissistic, this is being the absolute.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tell us about philosophy forum and you.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q10: What are your favorite areas of the forum? If you have more than one, give us your top five.

Blogs.

Q11: Do you blog? What are some of the topics you discuss?

I talk about anything I want.

Q12: If you could describe philosophyforum.com in one word, what would that word be?

Alright.

Q13: How would you describe your posts and the style/structure you use?

None. Try to be coherent sometimes.

Q14: What would you do to make philosophy forum a better/more interesting place?

By being an active user.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tell us a little about your perspective of philosophy in general.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q15: What first got you interested in philosophy?

This is like asking when did you first find out you were gay?

Q16: Explain how philosophy is important to you.

It's not that important to me per say. I am quite important to myself though.

Q17: What keeps you interested in philosophy?

I don't want to answer this question.

Q18: If you could define you own particular philosophy in one short sentence, what would it be?

Absolute and correct.

Q19: What do you think the benefits of philosophy are?

It depends on the person.

Q20: What do you think the drawbacks to philosophy are?

None.

Anyone who is not me, duh.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q25: Global warming or Global fooling?

Q26: Conservative or liberal?

Q27: Formal or informal?

Any eagerness to answer didn't shine through in your responces. Some of the answers I thought "ah, I like that", others I thought "why bother answering?".

Just my two cents.Smile
