I know for many it's hard to imagine what it means as we so casually toss it around exclaiming all that "we love" to the point that I think we become confused and lose sight of what it really means. In another post I offered love is a one way street and it can only be given and how so very great it would be it we all were so giving.
I use the word love a lot when referring to inanimate objects, plants, animals, and such.
Though almost never people.
There is only one person thus far I've ever said I love you to. And only a couple people I said I loved to someone else. (The first being unrequited, hence me never saying it directly to her)
For a short period of time I used the spelling 'love' to refer to that one person while using the spelling 'luv' to refer to everything else.
I wanted to create a new word to refer to those things I didn't actually feel real love for, but I went with an established internet slang term so people would understand. But then I felt like an idiot, so I stopped.
