Try grafting your own Boomer.
Read up a little on grafting
Purchase a couple of standard hazel nut trees. Buy grafting tape and grafting putty
Get some cuttings from your neighbours tree.

see how you go.

Ha!

I was at Home Depot this morning and they had 5' tall ones for $50!

That's still a lot more than I usually spend on a plant but it was a bargain in comparison.

I don't think I'm competent to do grafting and such, dadpad. I wish I were. My neighbor N could probably do it though. She has a AMAZING yard that she did on her own. When I was working in my yard yesterday she came over and started yakking with me about plants. By the end of the hour she had "designed" my barren front yard. I told her to make me a plant list. She promised to introduce me to her "dealers". This could be fun!
