Anyone else feel Cora getting booted so dumb.

Granted Sox won in the end but 2 points one physical harm to Mookie who is perhaps the most mild mannered superstar and Cora being kicked out before barely saying anything is crazy .

I'm guessing it's one of those new rules -- that a manager is no longer allowed to argue with the umpires about...

@Region Philbis,
The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!

As I've not lived in Boston since 1999, it's been many years since I've been to a game. I wonder how much bleacher seats cost now?

@Region Philbis,
Thanks for that info. Amazing! I also looked up tan August daytime Cleveland Indians game in August and saw some $30 bleacher seats. I hear the concessions are pretty pricey too.

@Region Philbis,
Quote:
In addition to ticket prices, the Red Sox had the most expensive beer at $7.75 (tied with the Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies) and the most expensive parking and caps, tied with the Yankees. Fenway Franks, at $5.25 each, are a relative bargain; the Cubs topped the majors in hot dog prices at $5.75.

@Region Philbis,
What amazes me is the reality check - Yes, Virginia it IS real. I've watched them every season since 1967. And this is all happening in a season where those damned Yankees are having a strong season, too (despite what their current trend is. They have had their nicks and scrapes. And they're doing it Even without their perennial spark-plug ... Pedroia. I just wish there was a way he'd be available for playoffs and possible WS; however it doesn't look that way.

@Region Philbis,
Furthermore, looking ahead to playoffs, Astros look like a real contender too. They just traded for Osuna and he'a a formidable stopper. For their sake, hope he is legal to play due to his May 2018 charges over domestic abuse. Blue Jays dropped him due to their zero-tolerance policy.

coming of a DL stint, chris sale struck out 12 in 5 innings of shutout work.

https://i.imgur.com/mtwMoeH.jpg

in doing so, he became the first pitcher in MLB history to strike out
at least that many in five innings or fewer without allowing an earned run.

he's got a legitimate shot at breaking the record for most strikeouts in a game (20)...

Entertaining game last night.
I thought my woeful Marlins had sealed a 6-4win in the 9th.
But nooooo...
Sox score on walk-off error double play botch.
Gritty, scrappy play that points to a probable World Series appearance .

@panzade,

i'd much rather see the bullpen do its job and clamp down on that 4-1 lead in the eighth.

we're not gonna get far in october without a reliable 'pen...

If you really need to borrow a pen... just ask.

Marlins were slaughtered at the Sawx altar last night.
Never seen a team hit the fast stuff like that.
At one point 5 hits in a row.
Fenway Park was built for these guys.
