@Region Philbis,
My fantasy pitcher started the whole debacle, from my point of view - Garrett Richards. Very badness personified.

@Region Philbis,
Was a fun watch but it all started Sunday and as I posted; I think it turned the season around for the Sox.
Quote:
Jonny Gomes, David Ross and the rest of the Boston Red Sox reminded Yunel Escobar and the Tampa Bay Rays of one of Major League Baseball's unwritten rules Sunday afternoon: Don't try to steal a base when the opposing team thinks your lead is big enough. It's rubbing it in, which we don't do. Got that?

The Red Sox gave Escobar an earful after he took third base with a five-run lead in the seventh inning, prompting a benches-clearing argument with the Rays after which three players were ejected. Regardless of the yelling and shoving, no actual punches were thrown in Tampa Bay's 8-5 victory, which also was Boston's 10th straight loss.

@ossobuco,
Oops, dead wrong on that, no Red Sox anywhere near. (I hadn't had my coffee yet)

Still, the LAA and Oak game was a bummer.

@Region Philbis,
And so begins Sawx fans love affair with Pierz. Hope he becomes lovable..err..ah ...likeable. he had the reputation of being the major leaguer most other players want to punch.

@Region Philbis,
These two may not be classic Red Sawx announcers like Ken Coleman and Ned Martin or Curt Gowdy and Ned Martin but they surely make you laugh.

And, of principal importance, the entertainment they provided is far superior to what was going on in the field.

nice comeback in the seventh, but then it appeared they ran outta gas, and got especially sloppy on the basepaths...

@Region Philbis,
Sorry guys, the called strike to end the game was bogus. TV replay showed it high and way out of the strike zone.

ps. Still chuckling about Papi trying to stretch that single...chug...chug...chug...what was he thinking?

@panzade,
I don't think I'm telling tales out of school but Big Papi doesn't lack for confidence. Plus once he gets rolling, he's quite the force on the base paths.

I feel bad for you Sawx fans: I thought it could be turned around.
Now I'm praying the Marlins will bid for Lester.
