Question about Levinas.
One of the biggest question marks that I have about Otherwise and Being is (what seems to be an easy concept for others) how the passivity of language works.
I am struggling to understand in general terms how the Verb, Adverb and Noun work to create passivity. I understand the concept of the saying and the said... but somehow... I just can not work out the details of the verb, adverb and noun concept in connection with it.
@LLBB,
I am not familiar with Levinas but I suggest that the answer to this technical question may lie in concepts of language as an
a priori with respect to
evoking "self" and "other", rather than being a surface phenomena
used by an actor . (Try Dennett or the later Heideggar).
Pretty heavy stuff . . . or as simple as the Golden Rule.
