Think of your fellow man
lend him a helping hand
put a little love in your heart.
You see it's getting late
oh please don't hesitate
put a little love in your heart.
And the world will be a better place
and the world will be a better place
for YOU AND ME

There must be some way out of here
Said the joker to the thief
There's too much confusion here
I can't get no relief
Businessmen they drink my wine
Plowmen dig my earth
None of them know along the line
What any of this is worth

No reason to get excited
The thief, he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who think that life is but a joke
But you and I, we've been through that
And that is not our fate
So let us not talk falsely now
Because the hour is GETTING LATE

All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While horsemen came and went
Barefoot servants too

All I got is a red guitar
Three chords
And the truth

All I got is a red guitar
The rest is up to you

There's no reason to get excited
The thief, he kindly spoke
There are some among us here
Say that life is just a joke
You and I, we've been through that
And that is not our fate (at least today)
So let us not talk falsely now
Because the hour is getting late
Late...

(yeeeaaaaaahhhhhh...)
[until end]

THERE MUST BE SOME misunderstanding
There must be some kind of mistake
I waited in the rain for hours
You were late
Now it's not like me to say the right thing
But you could've called to let me know
I checked your number twice, don't understand it
So I went home

I can see clearly now THE RAIN is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
gonna be a bright
bright ..sunshiney day...

I can see clearly now the pain is gone
all of the bad feelings have disappeared
this is the rainbow i've been waiting for
gonna be a bright
brigh sunshiney day..

They run and hide their head
They might as well be dead

Trees swayin' in the summer breeze
Showin' off their silver leaves
As we walked by
Soft kisses on a summer's day
Laughing all our cares away
Just you and I
Sweet sleepy warmth of summer nights
Gazing at the distant lights
In the starry sky
They say that all good things must end some day
Autumn leaves must fall
But don't you know that it hurts me so
To say goodbye to you
Wish you didn't have to go
No no no no
And when the rain
Beats against my window pane
I'll think of summer days again
And dream of you
They say that all good things must end some day
Autumn leaves must fall
But don't you know that it hurts me so
To say goodbye to you
Wish you didn't have to go
No no no no
And WHEN THE RAIN
Beats against my window pane
I'll think of summer days again
And dream of you
And dream of you

A lady that I know just came from Colombia
She smiled because I did not understand
Then she held out some marijuana, oh ho
She said it was the best in all the land

{Refrain}
And I said, "No-no-no-no, I don't smoke it no more
I'm tired of waking up on the floor
No thank you please, it only makes me sneeze
Then it makes it hard to find the door"

A woman that I know just came from Majorca, Spain
She smiled because I did not understand
Then she held out a ten pound bag of cocaine
She said it was the finest in the land

{Refrain with [sniff]}

A man I know just came from Nashville, Tennessee-o
He smiled because I did not understand
Then he held out some moonshine whiskey, oh-ho
He said it was the best in all the land

{Refrain with drink it}

{Refrain with "I can't take it no more"}

So I waited with high hopes
And she walked in the place
I knew her smile in an instant
I knew the curve of her face
It was my own lovely lady
And SHE SAID, oh it's you
Then we laughed for a moment
And I said, I never knew

That you liked pina coladas
And getting caught in the rain
And the feel of the ocean
And the taste of the champagne
If you like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the cape
You're the lady I've looked for
Come with me and escape

If you like pina coladas
And getting caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga
If you have half a brain
If you like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the summer cape
Then I'm the love that you've looked for
Write to me and escape
Yes I like pina coladas
And getting caught in the rain
I'm not much into health food
I am into champagne
I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon
And cut through all this red tape
At a bar called O'Malleys
Where we'll plan our escape..."

One day while I was eating beans at Smokey Joe's Cafe
Just sittin diggin'all the scenes at Smokey Joes's Cafe
A chick came walkin through the door
That I had never seen before
At least I never saw her down at Smokey Joe's Cafe
AND I started shakin'when she sat right down next to me

Her knees were almost touching mine at Smokey Joe's Cafe
A chill was running down my spine at Smokey Joe's Cafe
I could smell her sweet perfume
She smiled at me my heart went boom
Then everybody in the room at Smokey Joe's Cafe
Said "Man be careful, that chick belongs to Smokey Joe"

>From behind the counter I saw a man
A chef's hat on his head and a knife in his hand
He grabbed me by the collar and began to shout
"You better eat up all your beans, boy and clear right on out."

I know I'll never eat again at Smokey Joe's Cafe
And so we'll never meet again at Smokey Joes's Cafe
I'd rather eat my chili beans
At Jim's or Jack's or John's or Gene's
Then take my chances eating down at Smokey Joe's Cafe
Why risk my life when that Smokey Joe's a crazy fool

Waah-aah,at Smokey Joe's Cafe
Waah-aah,at Smokey Joe's Cafe
Waah-aah,at Smokey Joe's Cafe

Well, she was just seventeen
And you know what I mean
And the way she looked
Was way beyond compare
So how could I dance with another, ooh
When I saw her standing there
Well, she looked at me
And I, I could see
That before too long
I'd fall in love with her
She wouldn't dance with another, ooh
When I saw her standing there
Well, my HEART WENT BOOM
When I crossed that room
And I held her hand in mine

I LEARNED THE TRUTH AT SEVENTEEN
THAT LOVE WAS MEANT FOR BEAUTY QUEENS
AND HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS WITH CLEAR SKINNED SMILES
WHO MARRIED YOUNG AND THEN RETIRED
THE VALENTINES I NEVER KNEW
THE FRIDAY NIGHT CHARADES OF YOUTH
WERE SPENT ON ONE MORE BEAUTIFUL
AT SEVENTEEN I LEARNED THE TRUTH

AND THOSE OF US WITH RAVAGED FACES
LACKING IN THE SOCIAL GRACES
DESPERATELY REMAINED AT HOME
INVENTING LOVERS ON THE PHONE
WHO CALLED TO SAY - COME [I]DANCE WITH ME
AND MURMURED VAGUE OBSCENITIES
IT ISN'T ALL IT SEEMS AT SEVENTEEN

A BROWN EYED GIRL IN HAND ME DOWNS
WHOSE NAME I NEVER COULD PRONOUNCE
SAID - PITY PLEASE THE ONES WHO SERVE
THEY ONLY GET WHAT THEY DESERVE
THE RICH RELATIONED HOMETOWN QUEEN
MARRIES INTO WHAT SHE NEEDS
WITH A GUARANTEE OF COMPANY
AND HAVEN FOR THE ELDERLY

Your story's sad to tell,
A teenage ne'er do well,
Most mixed up non-delinquent on the block.

Your future's so unclear now,
What's left of your career now?
Can't even get a trade in on your smock.
Beauty school dropout,
No graduation day for you.
Beauty school dropout,
Missed your mid-terms and flunked shampoo.
Well at least you could have taken time,
To wash and clean your clothes up.
After spending all that dough,
To have the doctor fix your nose up.

Baby get movin,
(Better get movin)
Why keep your feeble hopes alive?
What are you provin?
(What are you provin)
You've got the dream but not the drive.

If you go for your diploma you could join the steno pool.
Turn in your teasin' comb and go back to high school!

Beauty school dropout,
(Beauty school dropout)
Hanging around the corner store.
Beauty school dropout
(Beauty school dropout)
It's about time you knew the score.

Well they couldn't teach you anything,
You think you're such a looker.
But no customer will go to you,
Unless she was a hooker!

Baby don't sweat it.
(Don't sweat it)
You're not cut out to hold a job.
Better forget it,
(Forget it)
Who wants their hair done by a slob?

Now your bangs are curled,
Your lashes twirled,
But still the world is cruel,
Wipe off that angel face and go back to high school.

Baby don't blow it,
Don't put our good advice to shame!
Baby you know it,
Even dear Abby'd say the same!

Guess theres no way to get through to you
No matter who may try
Better be going to that malt shop in the sky.

*fades*
Beauty school dropout
(Beauty school dropout)
Go back to HIGH SCHOOL
Beauty school dropout
(Beauty school dropout)
Go back to high school
Beauty school dropout
(Beauty school dropout)
Go back to high school

Kicks just keep getting harder to find
You don't need kicks, now,
And all your kicks ain't bringing you peace of mind
You just need help, now,
Before you find out it's too late, you'd better get straight
You'd better, you'd better, you'd better.

She's come undone
She didn't know what she was headed for
And when I found what she was headed for
It was too late

She's come undone
She found a mountain that was far too high
And when she found out she couldn't fly
It was too late

It's too late
She's gone too far
She's lost the sun
She's come undone
She wanted truth but all she got was lies
Came the time to realize
And it was too late

She's come undone
She didn't know what she was headed for
And when I found what she was headed for
Mama, it was too late

It's too late
She's gone too far
She's lost the sun
She's come undone

Too many mountains, and not enough stairs to climb
Too many churches and not enough truth
Too many people and not enough eyes to see
Too many lives to lead and not enough time

It's too late
She's gone too far
She's lost the sun
She's come undone
(Doe-doe-doe-doe-doe doe un doe-doe-doe un doe-doe-doe)

Great song Edgar.

Stayed in bed all morning just to pass the time
There's something wrong here
There can be no denying
One of us is changing
Or maybe we've just stopped trying
And it's too late baby, now it's TOO LATE

Human Nature What If I Said lyrics
Well I heard about the someone you've been seeing
And it's everything you dreamed that it could be
There's a battle in my head
And I'm wondering just how to say things right
I've been a friend so long
This feeling can't be wrong
It's the truth I tried to hide
What if I SAID I loved you
What if that's all that I could say
What if I said I'd hold you
I'd give you all you needed
Would you love me then or let me walk away

If only you could tell what I've been thinking
And know the questions heavy on my mind
Can a friend become a lover?
Can a man who kept the honest truth inside
Be too late for you?
'Cause I know this much is true
You're needed in my life

What if I said I loved you
What if that's all that I could say
What if I said I'd hold you
I'd give you all you needed
Would you love me then or let me walk away

(walk away)
Tell my I was wrong to try and
(If you stay)
Tell me you've been holding on and
Just tell me that your wait is over

What if I said I loved you baby
What if that's all that I could say
What if I said I'd hold you
Baby I'd give you all you needed
Would you love me then or let me walk away

What if I said I'd...
What if I said that I love you
What if that's all that I could say
What if I said I loved you baby
What if I said I'd hold you
What if I said that I love you
I'd give you all you needed
Would you love me then or let me walk away
