I'm having trouble hearing out of one ear. In theory, the problem should fade. The result is that I'm having a difficult time hearing my alarm clock. I bought an extra loud one. By whose standards, I don't know. But the damned thing doesn't wake me up.
I thought that I might need one of those old-fashioned wind-up clocks with a loud ringer. I remembered an old wind-up travel alarm I hadn't used in over 20 years.
I dug it out and opened it up. The time: 12:27.
I looked up at the vcr and another clock in the living room so that I could set the right time. What time was it? 12:27. I did a double take. I actually listened to the old clock to see if it was ticking. Not possible, but I listened anyway.
(Insert theme from the Twilight Zone.)
What are the chances of this happening? Has anything this, uh, unexpected happened to you?
I'd say the odds were 1 in 720.
Hah! I knew someone would do the math for me.
You're a prince among men. Thanks, kid.
@dlowan,
That's a good clock.
Unexpected...happening....to me.
Unfortunately I am not a planner - so it happens quite often.
Nothing as cool as the clock though.
@Roberta,
Check with Soz. She knows about stuff like this. Loud clocks, flashing lights, and stuff.
Usually in the Twilight Zone when things like this occur one is then temporarily able to read minds, or see into the future. Has this occurrence been proceeded by any of these kinds of phenomena? That would be cool.
