It started Sunday Droid gives the following message:

The application Email (process com.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly.

I use an IMAP email account.

I did a full factory reset. No 3rd party apps were reinstalled and it still crashes.

What is going on?

@DavidJ7,
Did the whole phone crash or just the email? Have you been able to add a diff email account, just to see? My guess is that you'll need to go to a VZW store and see the tech peoples. But you may want to wait till the smart people start replying, lol.

@DavidJ7,
Does this do it with all email accounts that you have added?

@BucYouUp68,
A 3rd Party app, K-9 mail, free on the Market seems to have solved the problem.

@DavidJ7,
One thing I have noticed is that when something on the phone falls short, there's usually an app that can step in. This, Handcent for texts, Live Gallery, and Super Dialer are some that come to mind.

@DavidJ7,
I have the same error message. Both of my email accounts (yahoo and windows live) will load my inbox with messages, but when I tap to view a email message, I get error pop-up, "The application Email (process com.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Try again." If the accounts weren't configured correctly, my inbox wouldn't load all the new messages. I'm stumped. I've deleted the accounts and readded them. Same problem. Need help.

Since moving to 3rd party app, K-9 Mail, I have had no problems.
