Hi All,

Have a question concerning video playback on the Droid. If I wanna watch movies, does the video fill the screen completely? I had the Dare and video would have a border around it and wouldn't fill the entire screen.

@jstwondrng,
It depends on how the movie is rendered, i have some that fill the screen and some that dont. So hardware is not the problem.

@jstwondrng,
avi to mp4 via Handbrake. I just find a AVI of a movie that i already own, download it. And convert it using Handbrake. Works great and is not a resource hog. Once converted i just drop it in the Movie Folder, Works Great.

@jstwondrng,
How do you view the movies?
Do you have to get an app, or is there a video player already on it?

You have to transfer it to the Droid via USB, then you need a File Viewer, I use Astro File Manager. So you just Convert to Mp4 format, i use the legacy iphone preset. When it is done, grab the file and plug in the droid to your Pc, mount the drive, and drop it into the movie Folder. once it transfers to the movie folder, use Astro to browse to the Movie directory and click. Simple. There maybe another way to do it, but that is how i do it.:rolleyes:

@jstwondrng,
You can if you want, but there is already a Movie Folder there.

@BucYouUp68,
So, does the quality match or surpass the iphone/ipod touch in crispness and resolution?

@Guit4rG0d,
So far, I haven't been able to find someone to show me video. I've seen practically everything on the Droid aside from that.

@jstwondrng,
Sometimes the encoding of the movie does not quite work. But usually get Video or something. Sometimes just video and no sound. never seen it say it cant be played.

@BucYouUp68,
Are you using Handbrake? I find that to be the best application for ripping DVD quality movies to handheld devices. I have an ipod touch and it makes the video look DVD quality.
