finely got my google voice invite and it rocks. voice mail is sent to phone in text and it overrides the verizon voice mail so no more stupid voice mail icon that wont go away until you listen to it. i highly recommend it. took about a week to get my invite though, but was simple to setup

@cmacv,
I'm know I'm going to sound stupid (not the first time), but what is Google Voice and why do you need to be invited to use it?

@linmk2,
"Google Voice is a service that enhances the existing capabilities of your phone numbers. With it, you can access your voicemail online, read automatic transcriptions of your voicemail, create personalized greetings based on who is calling, make cheap international calls, and more."

It is still in beta testing so only people who get invited to try it are able to use it... again, for testing.

@The Chief,
if anyone leaves a voicemail it is sent to you in text via text message and gmail it overrides verizons voice mail. and its sent within seconds and you dont need to use your minutes listening to voice mails. you can go into your gmail and click listen to message if you want. and you dont have to deal with that stupid voicemail icon on your phone that wont go away untill you listen to your messages. i highly recommend you sign up for it, it may take a week for you to recive your invite but well worth it.

I use google voice if I ever have to sign up for something online that requires a phone number. Very Useful.

@YankeeDudeL,
I got my invite from Google! Yayyy Very Happy

Did you opt to keep your number, or get a Google number? I'm still deciding...
