@cmacv,
Mine works... that's just wild, huh? I though the Droid would at least let me know when an update was done... I guess the OTA updates are secret

@The Chief,
Apparently there was no update. Rather, the camera's autofocus is somehow linked to the date... and there is a 24.5 day cycle. Today the 24.5 days of good autofocusing started, and it will crap out again in 24.5 days.

Fortunately Google is heavily at work to fix the date problem in the Dec. 11th OTA update, so hopefully we won't have to work with bad focusing anymore.

@cmacv,

I was having an issue w/ my phone yesterday, quite similar to the one I had last time and took my Droid's happy @$$ to the Verizon store. Long story short, too many apps opening at once (Taskiller wasn't effectively killing them, and some would start up immediately after killing them, or new ones all together would pop up...crazy) and that was freezing up my Droid. Anyway...

When I went, the tech guy installed a "few patches" that were available. He never used the words update. I didn't think to check it until I came across this thread, and more specifically, CMACV's posted link. And low and behold, green lights across the board. So yes, it seems like at least that issue has been addressed.

@cmacv,
While I have enjoyed my Droid so far, it's weakest link, IMHO, is it's camera. For a 5 Megapixel unit, I felt that the picture quality was rather poor to put it kindly. Every picture I took was slightly blurred and if there was a light emitter, such as a lamp or light fixture, there was a halo around said light. I did come to a conclusion and my action did improve picture quality somewhat. The fix is very simple really. The camera lens is flush with the body of the camera, hence, finger prints are easily transfered to the lens. I took a very soft cloth and cleaned the lens before taking the picture. Result? A much improved image. Still not great, but useable. If any of you guys are having trouble with blurred images, don't forget to clean the lens well, before taking the picture.

Is this really a software issue. Mine was wonderful while everyone else's sucked. Then magic day came about and they began to work and now mine sucks. I have a build 39/09. Any advice?

@cmacv,
All I can think of is check your date. It seems to be date-driven.
