My personal favorite is Welcome to the United States, where Zappa sets into music the form that visitors to the USA must fill out to pass US immigration.

@Robert Gentel,

Did Zappa create the "ship coming too late to save a drowning witch" drawing? I knew that one as a kid.

This drawing is from Roger Price's book "Droodles", a form of artwork he created. One could describe these humorous sketches and the accompanying explanations as thinking outside the box, well before that term was coined.

@Robert Gentel,
As Frank said "talking about music is like dancing about architecture".

Notwithstanding that you would need to understand the modes to understand the music. Start with the Locrian, Dorian and Mixolydian modes as those were perhaps his most favored.

Someone should tell Bob. No wait ! Dont tell Bob. I will still take the contract.

I just googled Franky, and found he died surrounded by his wife and kids. Now if I dieded surrounded by my ex-wifes and kids, I would demand a murder investigation. Maybe he was more liked than I am...

@panzade,
No really ...I was watching a documentary on Lithuania and they said , presenting a romanisk pole with a bust of Frank Zappa on the top, as the only monumant to a rock star. That doesnt sound right, maybe they mean the only government financed one. Anyway, there it was...Frank Zappa immortalised.

Zappa was and is very popular in former socialist states.
There's a yearly gathering/concert of zappaphiles in former DDR (East Germany).
Somehow he reppresented Capitalism with a human face.
