Is it advisable for the general population to avoid foods containing gluten?

Gluten is fine unless you have an allergy. Are you allergic to wheat or have any sensitivity?

No, not to my knowledge. I thought some people advise all people to avoid gluten.

I am gluten free. But, it is a genetic thing. I have never heard anyone suggest a gluten free diet for the general population.

That being said; in the past couple of years there has been a real surge of gluten free foods. It is now mainstream enough that we just found a gluten-free cake mix from Betty Crocker.

It is a lot easier keeping a gluten free diet now than it was ten years ago.
