Sorry, i hadda go ralph, and then have a bit of a lie-down . . .
I'd advise a full-body bio-hazard suit, and then mimic the gesture of hugging from about 20 feet away.
@dlowan,
Well, there
are some rumours about the Canberra connection .....
@msolga,
... from usually reliable sources .....
John Wayne (Marion Morrison) was born in Iowa. His family moved to California when he was still a toddler. He grew up near Hollywood, which accounts for his entree into the motion picture business. (All of this courtesy of Wikipedia.)
Wayne alwasy disgusted me. He started out making one reeler (i.e., fimls lasting 20 to 30 minutes) westerns for Republic. After the start of World War Two, he began making heroic movies about the war. The problem i have is that this supposed icon of rugged masculinity did not actually go in harm's way. A great many stars of motion pictures, the music business and sports did go into uniform. An important example of this is Glenn Miller, a popular musician of the era, who traveled to areas near the front to entertain troops. His plane went missing over the English Channel, and the wreckage and the remains of those on board have never been found. Tough guy Wayne enhanced his career while remaining in California.
@Setanta,
Well if you
insist on claiming him as yours, Setanta, I will graciously accede to your wishes.
@farmerman,
That thing is getting a little old......
No sign of you today, Setanta. I'm a bit worried that that bug might have gotten worse. I hope you're OK.
I'll live . . . i just ain't as lively as normally i am, Miss Olga. I hope that all is well there in the antipodes. (Spent most of yesterday upstairs in bed, near the bathroom, and i may end up there again today.)
