Today is Australia Day here! (It's already Tuesday). It's also Republic Day for India.

But - we're happy enough to add in Community Manager Appreciation Day. We'll drink to you (and anyone else) at the Australia Day BBQ.

Are you kidding me? Appreciating the community managers? For what? I mean, apart from the website itself, the community itself, the civility, the quick response to trouble, and the freedom from spam -- what have the community managers ever done for us?

Well, I don't know, Thomas. But in Jespah's case, she once told me she enjoyed reading some of my posts. I appreciate that.

I was definitely not fishing for compliments with this topic, but I do greatly appreciate them of course.

I love reading just about everyone's postings. One thing we do here is, we open up ourselves. In whatever rash, loving, stupid, silly, funny, angry, pedantic manner that we have. Not only do I feel I know you all, I almost feel like I know what to get you for your birthdays (an earthenware dish for ossobucco, a gift certificate for a computer store for Thomas, a history book for Merry Andrew, perhaps something by Paul Fussell?).

Propers to the stealth Mods. New trench coats for all!
