Gosh!

You could even go swimming and horse back riding I betcha!

oh, maybe I don't need to say this, but rub the brylcreem between your hands/fingers for a few seconds to warm it up, then run them through your hair.

I have wondered into the wrong thread... Makes me sad, I am going bald. I am but 27 years old. Oh the shame...

oh Seed, there's nothing unattractive about a bald man, really.

my father used brylcreem, and he just had that ring of hair around his head.

I once told him that half a dab would do him.

Why thank you, Reyn! How very kind of you to help!

I'll take a copy of that to my hairdresser's, as a guide to my next cut. Very fetching! Razz

Yes, you did need to say that.

Thanks again, chai.

@chai2,
Ever thought of just shaving it all off, Seed? (Or is that passe* now? I can't keep up with these things. Confused ) Could be quite liberating! Very Happy

* Question: How do you manage the comma mark over the top of the letter "e" on an ordinary, everyday computer? I've often wondered how such things are done.)

You mean they still make that crap. Maybe I should go looking for Burma Shave.

Or California Poppy (hair oil).

Has anyone in California actually heard of this product?
Or were Australian men (with exceptionally greasy hair! Shocked ) the only ones to in the know in the 1960s?

Have you tried this yet?

Just a few minutes ago, someone looked at me and said "your hair looks really good"

I said "brylcreem"

she said "no, I mean the style"

I said "brylcreem"

@chai2,
No, I haven't, chai.
I've tried to, but my attempts to actually locate a tube Brylcreem in my local (oz) supermarkets, chemists, have not been fruitful. Which is driving me nuts, because I need it! Now! Wink

Maybe I'll have to find one of those old barber shops? Maybe they'll have some?

Tell me, where do you buy yours from in the US?

News flash, chai!

I finally tracked some down!

This was in the suburb next door to mine. The woman in the chemist shop was actually in the process of ordering some for me, would you believe, because (not at all surprisingly) there was none on the shelves. Then she suggested I try the supermarket opposite, first. And eureka! There it was on the bottom shelf of men's hair products. It was like finding gold! Laughing Razz

So, I will report back later.

This'd better be worth the effort! Wink

@dlowan,
A bit of both, bunny.

As much as many find the "wind swept" look enchanting, I'd prefer it if was swept vaguely in the directions I'd prefer it to be swept in .... rather than the "look" being at the total control of the elements. (Incredibly fine hair, but quite thick.)

So, ya gonna give it a go?
