Crokinole, Chinese checkers and backgammon. I don't remember the name but I loved this game as a kid -- the board was set up as a supermarket and the playing pieces were small shopping carts. Every player drew a shopping list and you moved around the board trying to stop on a square that corresponded to a product on your list. First player with a full cart wins! (My mom and her brothers all worked at one time or another after school for Dominion. I'm wondering if that's how she got hold of the game.)

LOTR has the cooperative game too, and I cant not think of what it is called.. Blah.

Ticket to Ride another realllllly good game.

Make and Break is another fantastic game. (Especially when there is alcohol involved hehe) even more fun for kids.

When I started playing games with themes and not just roll and move, ones where you had to really think to make it work, i could NOT go back to the american games like monopoly.

OOOhhh man. Im itching for a good game right now!
