@dlowan,
Lab grown meat? Would it be the solution to save the KFC tortured chickens? Oh! But all those poultry farmers would lose their livelihoods, no? Everything is connected. Also, lab grown meat would be patented and some company would charge huge money for the rights to the patent and we'd end up paying just the same. Just like Truvia had to be invented because the companies couldn't patent Stevia.
