A J-50 in the hands of a semi-famous folk singer.

I had a 1968 model but I found it hard to play.

@panzade,
Well, I imagine he's spent a fair bit of money over the years collecting guitars and having them repaired. He has a really good luthier. His favourite is the 1933. He will sell some, but for just enough to cover his costs, not much profit (maybe $250) which I think is really decent.

What do you play? Blues? Folk? What?

@Mame,
I play in a country band, but I started out in a bluegrass band and saw a lot of these guitars.

@panzade,
Yah, I did, in the originating thread (the one that spawned this one) - 'he' is Alex, who I live with, who plays blues on acoustic guitars, preferably old ones. He has over 40 in total, some of them Gibsons.

He also has a fantastic Clifford Parlor, and these;

Arbor City Parlor
Epiphone FT-120
Epiphone PR 350-12
Fraulini Franchesca
Kalamazoo KG-11
Kay Note Deco
Kay Kraft Archtop
Kyasnycia Jumbo
Larrivee C-05
Larrivee OM-10
Larrivee Parlor
Martin 0-15
Martin 0-18
Martin 2-17
Martin OM-21
May Bell Pearloid
May Bell Style #7
National Trojan
Norman
Northwood
Rex Professional
Rex
Stella parlor
Stromberg-V parlor
Supertone parlor
Taylor 422
Wren Dreadnought
Yamaha csf-60

And that's all I know. End of story. Can't even read music or sing in key. But i LOVE the BLUES.

Yah, I did,

I should have said: Panzade: "I never paid attention"

In any case, I hope there's a good insurance policy in place. I would think Alex could open a museum with that lot.

@panzade,
Well, I don't know if they're listed with his insurance agent but he's got them all on a database with their dimensions from every whichway to Sunday Smile, what he paid, when he bought them, etc etc etc. Of course, this is a guy who has also a database of every SciFi book he's read, has all his bridge magazines from all the way back to the '70s, and has collected over 100 different whisky glasses.
