What's your favorite poem/quote and why? I prefer poems about simpler pleasures, like rain, fireflies, cathedrals, row boats, sunrises, etc. I oddly like older quotes like Thoreau, Poe, Emerson, etc.
A few I like:
"Dependence on another is perpetual disappointment."
"A fault denied is twice commited."
"Happiness is as a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but which if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you."
"The door to success is always marked 'push'."
"Life is art, not science."
"If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is were they should be. Now put the foundations under them."
I also think it'd be really cool if everyone started a poem from a thread and each put a word into the poem.
Ex:
Person 1: Grass
Person 2: feels
Person 3: better
Person 4: to
Person 5: bare
Person 6: feet.
