I wasted so much time there. My writing time became Facebook time. Adios, games, gifts and also some good friends and family.

@edgarblythe,
I don't do the games anymore but I love it for staying in touch with friends.

@NickFun,
I regret that disconnect, but in my case it was necessary, since I have little self control.

@panzade,
I write in short bursts. Then come back in a few minutes to correct myself or take it further. I will do a paragraph or two, then go online a bit, before going for the next step. Nothing flows from my pen, so to speak. I have to eke it out, a word at a time. Facebook kept me from doing that.

@edgarblythe,
Does this mean we will see more of you HERE then Edgar? I hope so. I've been missing you.

I had a similar thing happen to me about two weeks ago. I have totally quit playing chess. I've been on a site called ChessWorld for many years, and I decided that chess has become like work for me. It stopped being fun. So, here I am.

@edgarblythe,
Remember this newly formed adage, Two great internet narcotics, games and facebook.

Here is one more hopefully relevant paraphrasing, A moderate addiction to Facebook may not always be hurtful; but when taken in excess it is nearly always bad for the health.

@tsarstepan,
It all depends on one's priorities, plus self control. As I noted, I am weak.

I love Facebook. I have reconnected with many old friends dating back over six decades, have re-established closer relationships with the younger generation of distant relatives who are describing "Aunt Buzzy" as pretty cool--of course I think they are too--and in general have found it a good way to just remind folks that I'm thinking about them and love them. The games and stuff aren't all that interesting though I admit to getting caught up in a couple of them and do play a few minutes a day.

Don't you think relationships and the people in our lives are what it's really all about? I think Facebook can help add to that.

I made note of the loss of certain friends and family connections, and I hate that. But, I had my Farm Town farm, and there were enough other distractions to keep my simple mind on there far too much for me to accomplish what I deem most important online.
