List some designs that are very popular on the market, but are of a very poor, even incompetent design.
1) CD cases: They are difficult to open and easily break, so users often leave the CDs lying in the open where they get scratched and damaged. While there're at it, why not spend a few cents more per CD and make a harder and scratch-resistant product. DVD cases, on the other hand, are well designed.
2) Mini qwerty-keyboards: Qwerty keyboards were designed to be efficient when used with ten fingers. When you are limited to using one or two fingers, an alphabetical keyboard is most efficient, and the qwerty is slow and inefficient. Yet, cell phone companies brag that their products have qwerty keyboards.
@coluber2001,
The 5 bladed razor..
Dang.. what's next? 7 blades? 200 blades?
If the first blade is so dull it pulls the whiskers out so the second (or fifth) blade can cut it, why not just get a sharp blade to begin with?
