This was designed by women designers.
I hate to be the one to break it to you, ed, but women like the look (and feel) of a well-oiled machine, tool, crank, yank, rod, prod, package, havoc-maker, heaven shaker, trouser snake, rumtumtum and so on ad infinitum.

There is a bathroom at one of the buildings here that the urinals all face a one way mirror. You stare out at a 3 story atrium filled with people while you take your whiz.
